Manufacturers can not only display their vehicles and offer virtual and real test drives, they'll be able to take visitors on an immersive virtual reality tour of their manufacturing plants, research labs and testing facilities, offering a first-hand look at the cutting-edge processes driving their innovations inside a state-of-the-art SUPER REALITY DOME.
Inside the immersive SUPER REALITY DOME consumers will also be able to experience the thrill of driving all the latest models in a range of environments - urban streets, highways and off-road terrain.

The South African Guild of Mobility Journalists has announced the finalists for the 40th annual Car of the Year competition - sponsored by Old Mutual Insure.
The competitors have been selected from a diverse mix of vehicles, representing everything from affordable compact hatchbacks to family crossovers, lifestyle SUV's and high-performance models. The winners of the competition will be announced at a gala event in Johannesburg in the first week of May 2026 and manufacturers have the opportunity to showcase their vehicles at the DRIVE THE FUTURE EXPO before the winner is announced. |
DRIVE THE FUTURE EXPO - DATES & INFO:
The first DRIVE THE FUTURE EXPO will be held at the Blue Route Mall in Cape Town over 6 days from 26 - 31 March. Vehicles manufacturers will be able to display their vehicles in the mall, offer test drives and showcase their brand inside the SUPER REALITY DOME.

- Date: Thursday 26 March - Tuesday 31 March
- Operating Times - The DRIVE THE FUTURE EXPO will be open for visitors from 9:00 - 18:00 each day.
- Vehicle Displays - Various interior spaces around the Mall are available to manufacturers to display their vehicles. These spaces are available on a first-come-first-served basis.
- Test Drives - A online booking system will be set up for visitors to book a test drive.
- Private Events - Manufacturers can host private events where they could invite customers, dealers and partners. The slots are available each day from 8:00 - 9:00 and 18:00 - 21:00. There are only six morning and six evening slots available each day on a first-come-first served basis. The DRIVE THE FUTURE EXPO is set up near the foot court and catering could be arranged with restaurants at the food court or other restaurants in the mall. For catering options, click HERE.

WHAT DO YOU GET AS AN EXCLUSIVE EXHIBITOR?
- Participation in the DRIVE THE FUTURE EXPO from 26 - 31 March.
- Production of a 1-minute 360 Virtual Reality Video to be screened inside the SUPER REALITY DOME.
- Five screenings per hour inside the SUPER REALITY DOME of your 1-minute VR Video.
- Production of a 1-minute standard format video which is reframed from the 360VR video.
- 30 screenings per hour of your 1-minute standard format video on one of the six digital signage screens placed outside the SUPER REALITY DOME.
- Digital Business Card - visitors scan a QR Code to get more information about a vehicle, follow on social media, dealer contact details, videos and more.
- OPTIONAL EXPERIENCE- Augmented Reality Experience - visitors can scan a QR Code which opens up an augmented reality experience where a visitor can virtually walk around a vehicle, change colours and get more information. View a video of how it works HERE.
- Both QR Codes will be displayed on digital signage screens and static displays at the DRIVE THE FUTURE EXPO.

Inside the SUPER REALITY DOME, manufacturers will be able to offer a virtual test drive. Filmed in 360 virtual reality with a salesperson and formatted for screening inside the SUPER REALITY DOME, people will be able to have a good ‘look around’ the vehicle as the salesperson hosts the test drive. It will feel as if they are sitting in the seat next to the salesperson.
Various 360 shots can be included covering the exterior, interior, onboard driving and drive past shots as well as titles and information and people can then confidently book an actual test drive.
Once they’ve done the actual test drive and are back at home, they can scan a QR code and view the virtual 360VR test drive again to remind themselves of the features and interior styling of the vehicle.
A 1-minute version can be produced for DRIVE THE FUTURE and an extended version could be produced to be used for extended marketing and promotional purposes.

We provide a full production service for the filming and post production of immersive content required for projection inside the SUPER REALITY DOME.
All content produced is in standard 360 virtual reality format and is device agnostic and can be viewed immersively (VR headsets), semi-immersively (phones, tablets & Smart TVs), or interactively (desktop/mobile apps & browsers).
It can be viewed across many different devices and can be easily embedded into websites and shared via newsletters, blogs and social media. The 360VR content can be hosted on a cloud based server for anyone to access and download.
