To celebrate the 100 year anniversary we’re going to produce a documentary on The History and Story of the Kruger National Park and to assist in raising funds for the restoration efforts after the recent floods.
The script has already been written. You can view a short video below of the script introduction and visualisation but we’re going to do this very differently. We’re going to produce the documentary in 360 Virtual Reality and screened inside an immersive SUPER REALITY DOME so anyone who views it will be fully immersed in the story as if they were part of it.

There will be a few ways to view the documentary:

- It will be screened inside an immersive SUPER REALITY DOME as a shared experience. The Super Reality Dome will be set up a various locations across South Africa in 2026.
- If you have virtual reality goggles, you’ll be able to download it and view it on your headset.
- A version will be loaded onto YouTube and you’d be able to watch it on multiple devices. including onto a large flat screen. You’d use your finger to scroll around if viewing on a smartphone, or you’d use your mouse to click drag and scroll around on a laptop, desktop or large flatscreen.
- We’ll also produce a non-360VR version in standard video format for anyone to view as a ‘flat’ video.

The Kruger National Park recently experience severe flooding which causes a lot of damage. SANParks Honorary Rangers respond to the overwhelming call from SANParks’ online community, members, friends and SANParks stakeholders to establish a dedicated disaster fund to support Kruger National Park during and following the current floods.
100% of all donations received will be spent by SHR on flood related response and recovery work in Kruger National Park. No admin costs will be taken from this fund, ensuring your support has maximum impact on the ground.
